Campaign Spotlight:
Natalie and Joe Piccotti

for Donor Relations, at the 2024 CRC Jingle & Mingle fundraiser.
We are very grateful to Natalie and Joe Piccotti for their generous Community Gifts Level contributions in support of CRC’s Capital Campaign. Since first becoming supporters in 2020, the Piccottis have deepened their involvement by staying engaged with CRC throughout the years. Through hands-on experiences and participating in CRC events, they’ve seen the impact up close and have been inspired to do even more. In this spotlight, Natalie and Joe share what motivates their giving, the experiences that shaped their connection to CRC and why they are excited about what the transformed campus will make possible for neighbors in need.
“We both feel so fortunate to be able to help those in need, and supporting the CRC impacts families locally in North County.” – Joe Piccotti
“I really love the idea of providing to the CRC Capital Campaign as a way to positively impact the mission of the CRC and help ensure a solid foundation for the future.” – Natalie Piccotti
Q&A with Natalie and Joe

CRC: How long have you been a supporter of CRC, and how did you first learn about us?
We started providing financial support to CRC in 2020, giving regularly to the general fund. In addition, Natalie donated through her Sorority Alumnae chapter, San Diego Phi Mu Alumnae, to the CRC Sock Donation Drive in 2020 to support families during the holidays.
We attended a CRC Tour of the Food Pantry with our daughter Addie, and that really helped us see first-hand the impact the CRC is making in the community. We also attended the Capital Campaign Kick-Off at Leichtag Foundation with our daughters Adriana and Addie. That kick-off event, combined with the tour we had taken of the Food Pantry, provided us with a better understanding of CRC’s goals, the capital campaign and how our support would help impact our community. We were very impressed with the leadership, vision, and values of everyone at CRC.
Seeing CRC’s work up close made us want to deepen our involvement. We realized we wanted to do more with this organization and we had a better appreciation of the impact that the CRC was making on the community. Hearing firsthand about the work CRC is doing helped us better understand the impact it has on people’s lives. It definitely strengthened our desire to support the organization. Every event we have attended with the CRC has left us more impressed with the mission and the dedication of everyone involved.
We pledged support to the Capital Campaign starting in July 2023 and we renewed our pledge in July 2025.
CRC: What inspired you to get involved with CRC?
First and foremost, we appreciate the work the CRC is doing within our local community. It’s very important to us to be impacting the people who live in North County, where we live, and create opportunities and support to people in our area. We have been very inspired by the moving stories shared directly by people who have been positively impacted by the work of the CRC.
We have been impressed with the dedication of the staff, volunteers, and leadership with the CRC. This is an amazing group of people coming together to improve our community. We are very supportive of the programs that serve women and children in need. We both especially want to support programs that help address food insecurity, and the food pantry is such an important part of CRC’s work.
CRC: What motivates you to support Community Resource Center and our mission?
Local support, hands-on interactions, and being inspired by staff and leadership – these are all part of why CRC has been so meaningful to us. We were at the Food Pantry tour when a person who had been served by the CRC spoke about the impact that the CRC made in his life. It was impactful to hear directly from someone who used the services provided at the CRC and is now able to volunteer to help others! It is very inspiring to hear how support from the CRC can make positive changes to one person’s life – one among many.
CRC: What inspired you to give to CRC’s capital campaign?
Prior to the Capital Campaign, most of our donations were made silently, behind-the-scenes. When we made the decision to support the Capital Campaign, we saw the impact that it could have on the community. We really felt that the capital campaign provides the opportunity for the CRC to further their mission and we want to be part of it.
We are especially excited about the more efficient food pantry and the resources it will provide to families in need. We’re also grateful there will be improved space that helps preserve dignity for neighbors seeking support, including a dedicated waiting area. Overall, we’re inspired by what this new space will make possible – a more usable space in which volunteers can serve people.
CRC: Can you share more about your family’s history of philanthropy?
We both come from modest beginnings with strong family values. Now that we have the opportunity to help others we have really wanted to provide more support in our community.
Natalie and her daughter, Adriana, have been active members of the National Charity League Moonlight Chapter in Encinitas for four years and Natalie serves on the board. Her daughter, Addie, will join this year as well. They love participating, especially because of the philanthropic opportunities and volunteering directly in our community. In fact, it was CRC volunteers at the Sock Drive who told Natalie about NCL and suggested she look into the opportunity when her daughters met the required ages.
Since 2016, Joe has been an active member of the Adventure Guides through the Ecke YMCA and during his ten years with the club, he has actively supported the YMCA, including serving as the the Dreamcatcher Fundraiser for the Spirit Club.
Natalie is the Philanthropy Chair with her sorority alumnae chapter, a position she has held for several years, where she has coordinated philanthropy support for the CRC, Gently Hugged, CMN through Rady’s Hospital, and Phi Mu Foundation.
Locally we also contribute to various organizations such as San Diego Rescue Mission, San Diego Foster Angels, Jacobs & Cushman San Diego Food Bank, and Fill-A-Belly. We feel strongly about supporting organizations that help with food and shelter insecurity.
