“What excites me most is the ability to expand services in a way that truly meets people where they are. A new, purpose-built space means more efficiency, more dignity in service delivery, and a greater capacity to provide safety and resources to those in need. This campus will be a sanctuary for so many, offering hope and a path forward.” – John Hall
Q&A with John Hall

Awards, where CRC was honored as 2024 Nonprofit Partner of the Year
CRC: Can you please tell us about your involvement with Community Resource Center (CRC)?
John: My wife, Jenny, and I have been supporters of CRC for four years and I currently serve on the Board of Directors. My connection to CRC started with my deep personal commitment to addressing food insecurity and domestic abuse—issues that have been part of my lived experience.
As I learned more about CRC’s work and impact, I knew I wanted to contribute in a meaningful way, which led to my decision to serve on the board.
CRC: What inspired you to get involved with CRC?
John: My inspiration stems from personal experience. I grew up in an environment where food insecurity and domestic abuse were all too common, not just in my community but in my own life. Those early experiences shaped my perspective on how critical it is to have resources available for individuals and families in crisis. Now, at this stage in my life, I have the capacity to help others facing similar challenges, and serving on the CRC Board allows me to actively contribute to the organization’s mission.
CRC: What motivates you to support Community Resource Center and our mission?
John: I believe that everyone deserves safety, stability, and the opportunity to rebuild their lives with dignity. CRC’s mission aligns closely with my values, especially in providing food, shelter, and safety to those in need. My role on the Board of Directors allows me to contribute my time, experience, and resources in ways that directly support CRC’s growth and impact. Knowing that both Jenny’s and my contributions—both personal and financial—are making a tangible difference keeps me motivated.
CRC: Are there particular experiences that have been especially meaningful to you?
John: One of the most impactful experiences has been seeing firsthand how CRC’s programs transform lives. Whether it’s witnessing a family regain stability after leaving an abusive situation or seeing someone move from crisis to self-sufficiency, those moments reinforce why this work is so important. It’s not just about charity—it’s about creating opportunities for people to take back control of their lives.
CRC: Can you share more about your history of philanthropy?
John: Giving back has always been a core value in my life. My experiences growing up made me acutely aware of how much of a difference support can make, and that understanding has guided my philanthropic efforts. I have been fortunate to be in a position where I can contribute both time and resources, and I see it as a responsibility to do so. My family has also influenced my approach to giving—we believe in lifting others up and supporting causes that drive real change.
CRC: What inspired you to support CRC’s capital campaign?
John: The capital campaign represents a long-term investment in the community. CRC’s work is life-changing, but having a stronger infrastructure will allow the organization to serve people with greater efficiency. As a board member, I see firsthand the need for expanded resources, and Jenny and I wanted to contribute to something that not only meets immediate needs but also builds sustainability for the future.
CRC: What aspects of the new CRC campus excite you the most? How do you envision this new space impacting the community and the people we serve?
John: What excites me most is the ability to expand services in a way that truly meets people where they are. A new, purpose-built space means more efficiency, more dignity in service delivery, and a greater capacity to provide safety and resources to those in need. This campus will be a sanctuary for so many, offering hope and a path forward.
CRC: Is there anything else you would like to share?
John: Just a deep appreciation for the work CRC does every day. It takes a community to support those in crisis, and I am grateful to be part of that effort—both as a supporter and as a board member. If sharing my story encourages others to get involved—whether through time, resources, or advocacy—then that’s even more reason to continue this important work.
